NEC Display Solutions of America, one of the many leading providers of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, recently announced its first ever LED-backlit desktop monitor for business, education, government and healthcare markets, namely the EA222WMe.
Thanks to the LED backlighting technology, the NEC MultiSync EA222WMe will provide the brightness value as other panel types, while using twenty percent less power, while compared to the previous generation NEC LCDs, this new model consumes up to 52 percent less power, radiates up to 61 percent less heat, weight 25 percent less and uses up to 15 percent less packaging. Also, the monitor and the cables in this eco-friendly LCD are mercury, halogen and arsenic free, and the monitor is even compliant with ENERGY STAR 5.0, TCO 5.0 and EPEAT Gold, further improving its status as the most energy efficient desktop monitor, offered by NEC, of course.
“The combination of these green technologies in the MultiSync EA222WMe points to the future of where the LCD industry is headed,” said Lynn Gu, Product Manager for NEC Display Solutions. “LED backlight structure has improved tremendously along with cost reduction, and the adoption of the LED backlight technology will continue to accelerate over the next few years.”
Even more towards environment friendliness, users will be provided with a way of tracking their carbon savings thanks to the display's resettable carbon footprint meter, which is a unique tool that calculates the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Also, a new addition to NEC's MultiSync EA Series is the resettable cost meter that will indicate the electricity cost savings via OSD. Featuring a full ergonomic stand, the EA222WMe has a 110mm height-adjust, tilt, swivel and pivot functionality, adding versatility and comfort to the users, allowing them to position the monitor to meet their exact needs.
Technical details include a 16:10 widescreen aspect ratio, a 1680 x 1050 native resolution, 30,000 dynamic contrast ratio, 250 candles per square meter brightness, VGA, DVI, USB and DisplayPort inputs. All of this, for the price of $339.
